Last week, the annual Healthy Ireland Survey provided a comprehensive picture of the nation's health and wellbeing. The research found that 76 percent of people aged 15 and over drink alcohol while 39 percent of all drinkers tend to binge drink. In addition, 39 percent of Irish people are overweight while 23 percent are obese. 22 percent also say they smoke. Despite that, however, people across Ireland are positive about the state of their country's health with 84 percent reporting that their own health is either good or very good.
