The gender pay gap is an issue all around the world and the UK is certainly no exception. The difference between men and women's earnings is currently largest in London, where a full-time male employee gets an average of 14.6 percent more per hour than his female counterpart. To some degree or other, the same can be said right across the UK. That is, except, in Northern Ireland. Since 2010, women in Northern Ireland have been earning more than men. In 2017 this non-traditional gender pay gap comes to a not insignificant 3.4 percent.
