Germans have a reputation for loving their cash and avoiding more advanced forms of payment. In fact, many major retailers and restaurants do not accept credit cards to the immense frustration of many tourists and business travellers visiting Europe's largest economy.
Some good news finally emerged this week with Google Pay becoming available in Germany. Consumers can use the service at businesses such as Aldi, Lidl, McDonalds and Media Markt. In total, Google Pay can be used in 19 countries and regions while Apple Pay is available in 27.
