According to the Nobel website, 896 laureates and 27 organizations have received the Nobel Prize since 1901. The vast majority of recipients fall into a single category - old, white and male. According to AEI, 854 men have been awarded a Nobel Prize over its 118 year history compared to only 50 women (as of yesterday - it's now 51 as Donna Strickland has just won a Nobel Prize in physics).
The male-to-female ratio for Nobel Prizes is 17.1-to-1 and men account for a whopping 94.5 percent of all prizes awarded since 1901.
