The Tablet Market Cooled Down in the First Quarter

The global tablet market cooled down in the first quarter of 2014. Even though Apple shipped 16.4 million tablets, this was still 16% down on the year before. Between 2012 and 2013, Android tablet sales quadrupled, an explosive pace of growth which has proven difficult to maintain. Nevertheless, an impressive 37.9 million Android powered tablets were shipped in Q1 2014.
