In a global SiteMinder survey, most consumers have shown a general openness to hotels having the right to increase their prices during busy periods. On average 65% of respondents agreed with this sentiment compared to just 13% who disagreed. Indonesia, India, and Thailand were most positive about the practice, often labelled "dynamic pricing", with more than eight in ten condoning the practice. In Spain, the UK, and Canada consumers were less enthusiastic about seasonal pricing with around a quarter of respondents from these countries giving a negative response. Nevertheless, positive sentiment still outweighed the negative in these countries.
