Theresa May's government will trigger Article 50 on 29 March, officially starting the irreversible process of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union. A lot has happened since the seismic referendum which made this possible and an awful lot still remains unknown. When asked by ICM to describe their feelings on the looming exit, the most common response by far was 'worried' and for ten percent of respondents, this worry extended as far as terror. As the referendum itself showed though, the UK is a divided nation when it comes to Brexit. The second most common response was 'pleased', followed by 'relieved'. Irrespective of how the public now feels, come April 2019 the UK will not be a member of the European Union.
