Despite the conclusion of the major parts of the movie and book series, the Harry Potter franchise is still thriving. There have been over 500 million books sold worldwide, making around $7.7 billion dollars in sales. While the books are usually better than the movies, the Harry Potter movie series has made a total of $8.5 billion at the box office worldwide.

Potter fans are so dedicated that when Universal Studios opened the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, theme park attendance spiked by 36 percent.
