Lone Wolf Terrorism: Majority Of Offenders Are White

The FBI has released a report into lone wolf terrorist attacks in the United States between 1972 and 2015. 52 lone offenders were included in the analysis and together they committed 33 acts of terrorism, killing 258 people and injuring 982 more. Most were U.S. citizens, born in the U.S. and single. The FBI pointed out that while the terrorists involved were "acting alone", most of them actually had family, peers or online contacts who were in a position to notice their troubling behavior".

When it comes to the ethicity of the offenders, involved, they were predominantly white. As the following infographic shows, 65 percent were white, 13 percent were Middle Eastern, eight percent were black, along with another eight percent who were bi-racial. four percent were Asian and two percent were Hispanic.
