Plant-based Burger

Where's The Beef?

More than 30 percent of Americans have tasted a plant-based burger and more of them liked it, giving it a score of seven or higher on a scale of one to 10, according to a new survey conducted by YouGov. But just because most people liked the way the plant burger tasted doesn’t mean people are willing to give up meat burgers. Respondents chose a beef-based burger over the plant-based burger.

“Fake” meats are on the rise in the U.S., with fast food chains like Burger King and Dunkin Donuts adding “impossible” meats to their menus. Since it rolled out in August 2019, the Impossible Whopper has received praise from restaurant goers. While it might taste delicious and it’s better for the environment, the Impossible Whopper isn’t exactly healthier. While a traditional Whopper contains 660 calories, an Impossible Whopper has 630 calories.
