In the US, online travel platforms help generate additional hotel bookings

In an Oxford Economics study on the impacts of online travel platforms in the US, it was found that as many as 47.5 million additional room nights could be attributed to the existence of online travel platform activity in the region. Even as lockdowns and travel restrictions were in place due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and 2021, online travel platforms were estimated to contribute more than 30 million room nights to the travel accommodation industry in each respective year.
